Life-threatening illness, injury, and painful medical interventions can lead to trauma symptoms, including PTSD.
We saw the need for children to get mental and emotional care, alongside the medical care already getting in hospitals, because mental health matters.
We started our work in hospitals, and grew to include other places kids need support too, including going to sleep away camps, entering foster care, learning how to protect themselves, and more.
Kids who learn coping skills are better prepared for the difficulties that face them.
We want to help kids to not only survive, but to THRIVE.
